Call for Nominations

At CACTX we believe that the success of our movement in Texas has been a team effort consisting of partners at a variety of levels —  team members who fervently believe in the power of the multidisciplinary model, CAC staff who commit their talent and careers to helping children in their community, board members and volunteers who choose to dedicate their time and effort to this difficult issue, legislators who never shy away from advocating on behalf of CACs, and the many corporations, foundations and stakeholders, without which  our movement would not have flourished.

To celebrate this effort, we are currently accepting nominations for the Annual Partners in Courage Awards. This is a meaningful opportunity to honor the incredible work of CAC team members, volunteers and staff. The purpose of this luncheon is to recognize individuals from the many diverse partnerships who come together to make Texas the largest and most advanced movement of CAC’s in the nation. The awards ceremony will take place Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Partners in Courage Luncheon in Austin, Texas.

We are currently accepting nominations from YOU, our membership, for three categories:

  1. Partner in Courage: MDT Member Award
  2. Partner in Courage: CAC Staff Award
  3. Partner in Courage: Volunteer Award

The video of last year’s winners may be viewed by clicking here. Please keep in mind that while prior Team Excellence Award Winners are eligible for consideration, prior Partners In Courage Award winners are not eligible to receive the award again this year. The nomination deadline is Monday, July 8th, 2013.

As an added bonus, if your nominee is selected, CACTX will be sending a film crew out to your center to create a video on the individual, which will be played at the luncheon.   These videos will be filmed by our media crew around the first week of September at your center.   We have retained an incredibly talented and creative media team to produce these videos. Your center will receive a FREE educational/awareness video ABOUT YOUR CAC, produced from the footage filmed at your center, for use in your community.  We know how expensive quality video work can be, yet it is such a powerful way to engage the community with the work of your center.  Last year, Polk County District Attorney, Lee Hon, Ellis County Children’s Advocacy Center Executive Director, John Wyckoff, and Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center Volunteer, Carolyn Speese were the 2012 beneficiaries of this wonderful opportunity.  Please click on the associated links to view the final product. We hope that this offer will be a wonderful extra incentive to nominate individuals from your area!

Winners and nominators will be notified by email on August 1st, 2013.  Winners will then be notified by mail with more specific details about the next steps leading up to and including the actual event.

You may click here to download the nomination form.  We look forward to receiving your nominations and thank you for helping us to make these awards meaningful and significant. If you have questions, please contact Suellen Brown at sbrown@cactx.org.
